Whiskey Barrel Aged
A single origin Guatemalan coffee aged 30 days in a Bourbon barrel and roasted to order — the most patient cup in your arsenal, built for the days that demand something extraordinary.
The Source
This starts as something already exceptional: a single origin Guatemalan coffee — traceable, intentional, and chosen specifically because its natural character can stand up to and be transformed by what comes next.
Guatemala has long been one of the world's most respected coffee origins. Its highland growing regions produce beans with a naturally full body, deep chocolate character, and a complexity that makes them ideal candidates for extended aging. The bean is the foundation. Everything else is craft.
The Craft
After sourcing, the green or roasted beans are placed inside a Bourbon barrel for a full 30 days. This is not a shortcut or a flavoring trick — it is a slow, deliberate transformation. Over those 30 days, the coffee absorbs the residual Bourbon compounds embedded in the wood: the vanillin from the charred oak, the caramel and toffee notes left behind by years of whiskey aging, the subtle smokiness of the barrel itself.
The result is a coffee that carries the memory of the barrel without being overwhelmed by it — a balance that takes patience to achieve and precision to maintain.
Then comes the most important part: roasted to order. Every bag is roasted only after you place your order. Not pre-roasted, not sitting on a shelf. Your coffee goes into the drum fresh, and ships at peak flavor. This is the Toolbox Coffee standard — because a good day starts with good tools, and a stale roast is never the right tool.
