From the volcanic highlands of Antigua, where altitude and ash-rich soil converge — small-batch roasted to a medium that is bold, complex, and unmistakably Guatemalan from the very first sip.

The Source

Antigua, Guatemala is one of the most storied and celebrated coffee origins in the world — and for good reason. Nestled in a valley surrounded by three active volcanoes at 1,200 to 1,616 meters above sea level, Antigua's growing conditions are nothing short of extraordinary. The volcanic activity that defines this landscape is also what makes its coffee so exceptional: the soil here is volcanic loam — rich in minerals, naturally fertile, and exceptionally well-draining, delivering a steady supply of nutrients that imprint themselves directly into the cup.

The beans are grown by smallholder farmers from Antigua, tending their plots with the close attention that only small-scale farming allows. The varietal selection is a classic and complementary quartet: Bourbon, Catuai, Caturra, and Typica.

Bourbon — one of the most celebrated Arabica varieties in the world — contributes natural sweetness, depth, and the dark chocolate character that Antigua is famous for. Catuai, a hybrid of Mundo Novo and Caturra, adds body and consistency. Caturra, a compact Bourbon mutation, brings brightness and a clean, lively finish. Typica, the foundational Arabica variety from which most modern cultivars descend, contributes elegance, clarity, and a refined sweetness that ties the profile together.

After harvest, the cherries are fully washed — pulped, fermented, and thoroughly cleaned — then sun dried, producing a clean, transparent cup where every varietal's contribution is clearly expressed and the volcanic terroir shines through without interference.

The Craft

Antigua Guatemala is one of the most recognized single origins in specialty coffee — which means the bar is high, and we hold ourselves to it. We roast our Guatemala small-batch, with full control over every variable from first crack to finish.

We roast to a medium profile — the precise point where the dark chocolate depth fully develops, the bright fruit complexity opens up, and the butterscotch sweetness comes forward on the finish. The volcanic loam soil and fully washed process already contribute a clean, well-defined cup; our roast profile is designed to amplify that clarity and bring every note into focus.

Every batch is evaluated before it ships. This is a coffee that earns its place in our lineup every time.
